Brian D. King

Brian King is an operating advisor to Thomas H. Lee Partners. He brings over twenty five years of operating experience to the Firm. Mr. King has held leadership positions in a variety of roles including CEO, COO, CTO, President, and board member and has a demonstrated track record of building highly effective global teams and generating transformative, sustained growth.
Prior to joining THL, Mr. King was the chief transformation officer for the DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where he was responsible for improving the performance of the combined businesses and served as a member of the Orthopedics Group Operating Committee.
Mr. King joined Johnson & Johnson from Covidien, where he was president of the Emerging Markets division. During his 10-year tenure with Covidien, he also served as president, Asia, based in Singapore, and senior vice president, Corporate Operations, with responsibility for global manufacturing, quality and regulatory, engineering, operational excellence and EH&S across nearly 70 manufacturing locations worldwide.
Before joining Covidien, Mr. King held CEO and COO roles with enterprises in the oncology pharmaceutical and energy commodities sectors. He also worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., as a general manager for the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) and held leadership positions at Allegheny Teledyne.
Mr. King is an advisory board member of the Allele Fund. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, and served as a jet pilot in the U.S. Navy after graduation. He holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering (MEPC) from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.Back to previous page
